Unwanted deep facial lines . . .

Unwanted deep facial lines . . .

Too often patients request Botox to get rid of crows feet, forehead lines, and those pesky vertical lines between the eyebrows (glabella).  What many clinicians don’t realize is that chronic wrinkling from muscle contraction creates near permanent anatomical changes in the skin.  Simply injecting Botox into the respective muscles will not make that near permanent (static) line disappear.

To get rid of the near permanent (static) line, one must accomplish two goals.  First, Botox is used to stop the cause of the line.  Second, the skin should be treated to reverse the chronic anatomical skin changes created from the hyperactive muscles.  Some clinicians try to mask the static line with dermal fillers, but this does nothing to reverse the chronic skin changes.

Make sure your Botox injector doesn’t just know Botox.  He/She should know facial rejuvenation.
